Session 4 - Marc von Oostendorp : Phonologie et Morphologie

D’excellents arguments permettent d’affirmer que les aspects premiers des grammaires des langues naturelle à avoir reçu un traitement scientifique de haut niveau ont été la morphologie et la phonologie. Elles persistent à prospérer et les descriptions d’un grand nombre de langues typologiquement différentes qu’elles ont produites atteignent des degrés de complexité très élevés. Ces deux domaines ont été étudiés avec des ensembles d’hypothèses théoriques différents. Tous deux ont également été partie prenante de bien des discussions relevant de la psycholinguistique et de la sociolinguistique. Enfin, tant la phonologie que la morphologie ont été au cœur des débats concernant un grand nombre de questions anciennes et nouvelles, correspondant aux six thématiques qui suivent :

  • La relation entre synchronie et diachronie
  • La relation entre les descriptions spécifiques à une langue et la théorie générale
  • La description adéquate de l’allomorphie
  • La relation entre mise en mémoire et computation
  • L’interface entre phonologie et morphologie
  • Le degré d’abstraction des représentations

Dans cette session parallèle, nous accueillerons des communications orales (d’environ 20 minutes, suivies de 10 minutes de discussion) portant sur l’une ou l’autre de ces thématiques, et sur tout autre sujet d’intérêt qui pourrait contribuer à notre compréhension globale de la phonologie et de la morphologie. Les propositions de contributions pourraient, de toute évidence, relever d’approches spécifiques, mais devraient aussi être intelligibles par les gens qui ne partagent pas ces approches spécifiques.
